Handmade Jewlwery

Hello...is anyone out there?  I'm not sure I even remember how to post to this blog it's been so long...and so much has happened...but I won't even try to catch up on it all. Right now I am gearing up to be a vendor at the Barn Sale in Gonzales, TX- November 6th and 7th...this will be my 4th or 5th year to do it ( I have lost track) I started out super small with only a 6 foot table...yea, that was my whole booth...one table!  Now I completely fill a 10foot by 10 foot booth...and really I should have gone bigger this year.  I have been making jewelry and other handmade items to fill my space!
I love looking at Pinterest for ideas,,,I had seen some similar to the ones above...but I made these three today! I make a huge mess when I'm creating...but I cleaned off a spot to snap this picture!
These necklaces were some I had in my booth last year...It's hard to part with them...but they went to good homes!

Finally...this is a close up of a necklace I finished ,,,and will be going to the barn sale to hopefully find a new home...but if not...I will be happy to keep this one!

Birdsong 3 Art Event

I have been a long time stalker of Karla Nathan's blog "Karla's Cottage", and a couple of years ago I got to meet her and take one of her classes at Paper Cowgirl.....but I had only dreamed of being able to attend her Art Event "Birdsong"  I was on the waiting list, and had all but given up hope that a spot would open up...and then it did...I was so excited....but I almost couldn't get the days off from work....but eventually it all worked out!

It was so amazing....everything was so beautiful!
I met so many wonderful ladies, who had come from all over.
this is me with Sherry Williams check out her blog "Pantaloons and Pearls"

Karla kept us well fed....lots of goodies to snack on

And we had some great class projects
This was my finished tag wreath from our class with Lori Oles... I instantly loved her! Check out her blog "Vintage Flair"
and below a closer look at my tags

Beth Leintz taught us a great stitching project and I borrowed this picture from her blog "Gathering Dust"....Me with my finished project....I love it!!! I loved seeing how different everyone's turned out.
Karla had so many of these birdcages in her studio, and in her house...they were all so beautiful and inspirational...I didn't get a picture of the one I made....but I love it!
I didn't get a picture of my necklace from the last class, but I sure learned a lot about jewelry making!
Karla had transformed her garage into a beautiful shopping experience for vendor night.....it was a little overwhelming....so much great stuff...I wanted it all!
Thanks to Kristi for doing all the driving and knowing the best places to stop and shop along the way ...it was a fabulous! I hope to be able to go again next year!

Handmade Christmas cards

Every year I have the goal to hand make my Christmas cards, but for the past couple of years I have had to break down and buy cards to send out.....because I just run out of time!  But this year I actually made all my Christmas cards!  I found the design inspiration from Pinterest, and went through my stash and found I had everything need to make these! I had some felt snowflakes, and snowflake punches in the right sizes, and these were surprisingly quick and easy to make!
I alternated using the felt and the punched from paper XL snowflake  as the bottom layer....simply so I would have enough!
I also have been working on some gifts for my co workers....I will post them in a few days, once I have given them!
Thanks for stopping by....I know that this is a super busy time of year!
If You would like a Christmas card from me....leave a comment and E-mail your address to me and I will send one to the first 3 that I hear from!!!!  my e-mail :   llelsik@aol.com

All my work paid off at the Barn Sale!

The Barn Sale was a great success for me....These are all pictures I took at my booth just after setting up.  It made me so proud and happy that so many people wanted to buy my handmade goods. The lace cuffs were a hot item!  Some of everything sold...from baby shoe pin cushions to wall hangings ...and everything in between...I have even gotten 2 custom orders from customers as well!
 Composition notebook journals...
Journals and photo albums, and handmade note cards
 Needle books
 Tote bags and purses
 Clutch purses or wallets
I still have a few things left, that are for sale...and I'm thinking of opening an Etsy shop....any thoughts or comments???
I appreciate you stopping by and look forward to hearing from you!!

Fabric Wall Hangings / Ladies with Quotes

I have spent the past 2 days in my sewing room and have a few more pieces to add to the collection that I will be selling at the Barn Sale! You really should make plans to attend on Fri. or Sat. November 2nd or 3rd because it is going to be so much bigger than last year with tons of new vendors!
I really enjoy making these, but boy do I make a mess of my sewing room! I need to go clean it up now before I start any new pieces! My hope is to have around 20 of these made for the Barn Sale!
This one is on a "flea market purse" so it's wearable art! I plan to put a couple on to tote bags too.

I leave in 8 days to Galveston, where we board the Carnival cruise ship to Cozumel....and I'm so excited! So my focus is switching to getting ready to leave, packing, etc.  September is gonna be a super busy month, and I can't believe how fast time is flying by! The big antiques show in Warrenton, and Round Top will be here soon!!!

Thanks for stopping by! I really appreciate your comments!!!!

Vintage Style Portfolio's

This summer is flying by...and I hope everyone is having a great one! I got to take a vacation and visit my family in Dallas and in Oklahoma!  My son & I had a great time spending the week of  July 4th with family...and I miss them already!  Since I have been back home, I have been trying to stay busy working on items for the "Barn Sale" because it will be here before I know it!!!
I started making these portfolios, and covering them with vintage lace pieces.
They open up and hold a note pad, pen, and note cards with envelopes. They could also hold a Nook or a Kindle.
They are all "one of a kind" and I have 10 finished!  Now to figure out what to price them?!? Any suggestions?
Thanks for stopping by! I love reading your comments!

Flea Market Purses

When I made my flea market purse to use in Warrenton I got so many compliments on it! Everyone encouraged me to make more of them....so I did...and I will be selling them at "The Barn Sale" in November.
So far I have about 9 finished, and I plan to make many more...but I thought I would give ya  a little peek in to what I have been filling some of my time with these days.  Every one is "one of a kind" and I really haven't decided on prices yet....for me that is the hardest part!  I would love to know what you think!
Thanks for stopping by!

Welcome banner

Event though it's a long way off until November, I have been working on things I will be selling at my booth at "The Barn Sale" in Gonzales, TX.  This year I will have a 10ft X 10ft booth to fill and decorate with all sorts of handmade treasures.  So save the dates, Fri & Sat Nov 2nd & 3rd and be ready to shop!
I just made this welcome banner with the idea to have it hanging in my booth just for decoration,  but I think I will make a few more to sell...changing them up just a little so no 2 are exactly alike.
I have so many ideas of things to make for my booth, lets just hope I can get them all done!

Thanks for stopping by, I would love to hear from you!

Beacuse My Computer Crashed!!!

That's why I haven't posted in such a long time!! So this is my first post from my brand new computer...and so much has happened since my last post (like 3 months ago) I don't even know where to start.....so I'm just gonna post some of my pictures from Warrenton and Round Top because these pictures were still in my camera....and I just got brave enough to try to uploaded them ....it does take me a while to figure all these things out....remember I am a blond!
About the time Warrenton and Round Top Antiques week started we were short handed at work, and I was working more than usual, but I was determined I was gonna get to go....more than one day!
Because in only one day, you can just barley scratch the surface, and there is still so much to see!
I did buy this beautiful purse, and I love it! It's from one of my favorite vendors Barbara McNally, from Houston, Tx  her business is "Whimsical Bling"
Sometimes when your there, it's just so overwhelming that you forget to stop and take pictures! I'm glad I did take some...it's crazy how quick you forget what you saw!
We were there for the opening day of Marberger Farm, was a part of the friendzy at Magnolia Pearl's Booth!  I absolutely love her clothes...I bought a few pieces to add to my collection.
I think we (my friend Yuki and Myself) made 3 trips up to Warrenton..or was it 4 trips?  Now I can't even remember...We saw this amazing vintage trim from Europe...it really was to die for...I wish I could have bought some of every spool.

I went toTeresa Cano's Blog party and got to hang with some famous ladies:
Cindy Crane of Lillies Lace, Kristi Day of Junkology, and Robelyn of Red Neck Chic
On literally the last day of the show, on the drive home, Yuki made a turn around, so we could go take pictures of the cutest little barn in Texas!
We continued  on the way home, and were talking about how sad it was to be over, and that all our fun and our money  was gone, then we stopped at Buckey's for a bathroom break, and when we came out to to the parking lot to get back in the car...there is was in all it's glory!!! The Magnolia Pearl silver stream.....it's so much prettier in person...The paintings on it are amazing! It seemed like a sign to remind us that in life, you never know what is going to be around the next corner.

I hope you enjoyed my ramblings and I would love to hear from you!!!

Lace Embellished Purse

I'm so excited to show you the lace embellished purse I made! I started with a canvas bag, with a zipper across the top, that I purchased from Hobby Lobby. Thanks to my friend Kristi (her blog is Junkology 101) for showing them to me! When I got home I dug out every piece of lace I own ...which is a lot...and I made a huge mess! Anyway... I started trying out different combinations, until I decided I liked this.

I simply glued all of it down using "Crafters Pick Fabric Glue" and I am thrilled with how it came out! It's perfect for when I am shopping the fields in Warrenton!
Thanks for stopping by, I would love to know what you think of it by leaving me a comment.
