Christmas in July

I know....It's a little early for Christmas. Next month is July,so we will be having Christmas in July! Ok...to be exact I am teaching a class on Poinsettia's & Pine cone's at the Scrapbook Haus in New Braunfels on July 26th. I made a few different styles of Poinsetttia's today, so help me decide which one we will do in the class. I would love to hear which one you like the best! The lighting was not the best so click on the picture for a close up. The first is a little more elegant, very shimmery.

The second one is a litte more antique/aged looking
Please leave me a comment with which Poinsettia project you like the best!

The third is a little more traditional.
As part of "Christmas in July" I will be having a blog candy give away. I am shopping for goodies to give away & I will have more details soon.

Black & White posie

My co-worker asked me to make a card for her mothers birthday, in black, white & red.
This is what I came up with. These "lolli-pop" posies are so easy to make. I just free hand circles out of patterned papers. (the circles do not have to be perfect) I distressed the edges, misted lightly with water, then start to crinkle & shape. I used SU border punch for the red strip, then layered ribbon over the top. I used a swirl/flourish punch by EK Success-(that is in the top left)Punched from black cs then I used black diamond stickels for some sparkle.

Floral Purse & Note

This little card & purse set is perfect for a little girl! I saw the tutorial for the purse at Inking Idaho click here for the Tutorial

I used scalloped circles nestabilities and several punches to create the flowers to mimic the ones on the paper. I really like how bright & bold, yet fun & cute these are. I hope you like them too!

Tiny Flowers

First off I want to say that Wicked was Amazing! I am so happy we went!
The story is fabulous & it is just a magical experience! I highly recommend you go if you get the chance!

I made this just because I wanted to! I had seen the idea on someones blog a while back, but now I forgot where! I think I might be insane.....partly because I can't remember squat....partly because of how tedious this was! These flowers are realllly small, I had to use tweezers ALOT! I stuck it out, and finally finished it though it took a while. The sentiment is something I had made a while back (I have the website if anyone is interested) The Flower punch is the small "tiny flower" from The Punch Bunch.
Now I have to work on samples for next months classes!

Wicked Tonight

We are going to see Wicked tonight at the Majestic Theatre, and I'm so excited I can hardly stand it! I am off to work this morning & am toting clothes to change into for the big show.
I have an extreme weekend ahead, so I am going to enjoy tonight! I am teaching a full class at the Scrapbook store on San Pedro tomorrow, then 2 (back to back) full classes on Sunday in New Braunfels. Good thing I have Monday off to recover!

Daffodills

I think Daffodil's are the epitome of summer! They are so bright and sunny, they just make me happy! These are made from card-stock and coffee filters, and accented with Flowersoft. We made some of these when I took the class from Susan Tierney-Cockburn, author of "The Paper Garden" & "The Paper Bouquet", and now I am teaching classes on making the flowers! For those of you who are in the area, this is sample for the class on June 28th at the Scrapbook Haus in New Braunfels, TX.

I want to thank all of you who are visiting my blog on a regular basis, your comments are so encouraging! I truly appreciate your nice words...it is what keeps me inspired to continue to create new things to show you!

Prettier Pansies

I am much happier with these pansies! I knew they needed tweaking! I used my punches to punch the purple & white petals, then I shaded the white petals with pastels & added detail with marker & flowersoft. I even sponged the lace (which was white) with eggplant envy ink, to match. Here is a close up of the flowers! I will probably be teaching a class on these....so I won't do a tutorial on them until after the class.

Paper Pansies

This is my first try at making pansies. I haven't decided if I really like them or if they still need to be modified....I will probably make more so I can tweak them some...it's just that there are so many varieties of these flowers...and I like them all!
This is one of the many varieties, and the one I was sort of trying to make.
