Merry Christmas

I would like to wish you a Merry Christmas and thank you for stopping, by from time to time to see my little blog. I have big plans to completely re-do my little crafting area otherwise known as my kitchen during the next week or two. I hope to have some before and after pictures and some goodies for a give away very soon!!!
The image is a vintage card I bought at an Antique store & scanned in...feel free to use it as I could not find any copyright anywhere on the card.
Until next time...Enjoy the holidays with your family and friends!

January Classes!

Helllooo! I am sorry I have been neglecting my blog....I really can't believe it has been a whole month since I posted! I went to Dallas for a family reunion the weekend before Thanksgiving and got kinda sick...then we flew to Tennessee for Thanksgiving and since then I haven't had a moment to catch my breath!
OK...for the important stuff! I am excited to announce that I will be teaching classes at StampAntonio starting January 13th. I will do a Thurs. evening class once a month (on the 2nd Thurs of every month) and if there is enough interest we may add a Sat. class as well. These are the 2 cards with handmade flowers you will make from coffee filters. These are very simple so it is a great class for beginners!
I know that this is a very busy time of year and I soooo appreciate you stopping by! I hope you will also stop to remember the true meaning of Christmas and keep that in your heart!
Thanks,

Vintage Images of Christmas Part 2

I am drawn to the vintage look...I just can't get enough of it! The card above is one I just made, and the card and tag below are some I made last year. Sometimes I look back at things I made a year or so ago....and realize that my taste has changed since then...but not in this case! I still really love these, so I decided to show them again.
So this is part 2 of vintage images of Christmas....and I am not sure how many more "parts" there will be....so let me know if you want to see more of these!
I am leaving to Dallas super early in the morning for a family reunion...so I am keeping this short.
Thanks for stopping by...I love reading your comments....so don't be shy!

Vintage Images of Christmas... part 1

Hello....I hope you had a great week...I sure did! We are having some colder weather and it's so nice! I sat down to play with some of the vintage images I have been collecting. I saved them to a flash drive and had them printed at a local office supply store...because they have a color laser printer vs. my ink jet printer...so you get much brighter and sharper images and I don't use up a whole ink cartridge! They let me use my own cardstock so it's very inexpensive.
For the one above I used some vintage lace and added a ribbon rose I made from seam binding. This was my very first try at making these ribbon roses...they are really easy!
For this one I used "Webster's Pages" because the colors seemed to match almost perfectly....and although these are non traditional Christmas colors...I love them. I did not make the rose....it's from Prima...I just added the holly leaves.
I titled this "part 1" because I have so many of these images and will be posting more cards and things soon.
Thanks for stopping by...I really appreciate your comments

I Can't Believe I won Something!

I am so excited....I just found out that I won a Starbucks gift card from Theresa over at Garden Antqs Vintage I just love her blog...she has such gorgeous vintage things! I have been so busy and November just snuck up on me-yikes! It will be a busy month but I will try my hardest to post more often!
I made the card below for a co-worker's birthday and now I think it is time to start focusing on Christmas!
So much to do....so little time! But I did make time to go and vote today....and I hope you did too!
I love hearing from ya....

N is for Nest...

I purchased this kit from "The Button Farm" at the CKC show in San Marcos back in September...and have finally gotten it finished! I absolutely LOVE the crystal knob that is on the front (like a mini door knob)
I love that the kit came with great instructions and color pictures...it made it really easy!
Of course I had to change it up a bit...and add some lace in here and there!
I also made pockets on some of the pages....just to personalize it a bit....and make it more my own!
I just love these little books....even if there really isn't a practical reason for them! It is fun to create and have pretty little things that have been hand made just sitting around to enjoy!

I hope you all are having a Great Halloween weekend....the weather here has gotten a bit cooler and it feels wonderful...so I am headed out to enjoy the weekend!

Vintage Collage Book & More...

I was so inspired by all the vintage goodies I saw in Warrenton that I made this little chip-board book. I used Tim Holtz Fragments and made the collage with vintage(reproduction) images.
And a few more pictures I took in Warrenton for your inspiration!

OH....and by the way ....I found my camera!!! And I am feeling a little less stressed....but time is flying by so fast...Remember to enjoy every day!

One day was not enough!

Just one day is not enough to see one-fourth of all the vendors that come from all over the US for the fall & spring antiques show in Warrenton & Round Top Texas! I was completely overwhelmed!
Let me start at the beginning.... I almost talked myself out of going! I couldn't find anyone who wanted to go with me...can you believe it? But after seeing Jodie's post about her trip I was determined to go even if I had to go alone. At the last minuet I called my friend RaNae figuring that she wouldn't be able to go with only 12 hours notice.....but what I didn't know...was that in 12 hours it was her birthday...and she was looking for any excuse not to go to school! It was meant to be!

So we drove up Thursday morning...neither of us had ever been to this "Antiques Show" and didn't know exactly what to expect. We were both glad to be out of the city... and in the country, and we found out we have a lot in common. We parked at the first place we came to... not really knowing if it was good place or not...and just started looking around.

The more I looked...the more overwhelmed I got! I just kept thinking to myself...Holy Cow...there is JUST SO MUCH TO SEE!!!! There are tents of vendors as far as you can see!

Of course anything sparkly catches my eye!!!

There is something for Everyone....especially someone who loves FLOWERS!!!!

Ok...If you know me...you know I LOVE buttons!!! This was the Motherload of buttons.
She literally had drawers....... and drawers.....
And drawers............full of Buttons......it was fun to just pick up a handful and sift through them!

And I was in Lace Heaven. It is amazing that I didn't have to be drug out of there kicking and screaming!!! At least RaNae got to sit and rest....because I was in there for a while!!!

All this shopping makes a girl hungry....we asked around and the Legal Tender Saloon was highly recommended.....mmm....they were right!
After a quick lunch and dessert .....don't forget the dessert...we trudged on!

These angel wings were Amazing! Too bad they wouldn't fit in my little roller cart!

Then we found the Junk Gypsy...they were hosting the Prom Party later that night...it was the talk of the town. Too bad we were too pooped to join the party after dark.
And in case you need one.......you can rent one.....;) Men available to carry heavy items to your car!
Refreshing beverages and some live music!

By the end of the day I was exhausted....my poor feet! When I looked down and saw how filthy and swollen they were I knew it was time to call it a day! We defiantly covered a lot of ground...and we still had to walk allllll the way back to the car. The piggies were a squealin'....the dogies were a barkin' and in serious need of a pedicure!!!!!!!
We only scratched the surface......so I can't wait till the spring show....I am hooked! Next time I plan to stay for a couple of days....and try to actually make it up to Round Top!

PS...This was just a few of the pictures I took....let me know if you wanna see more in another post!
