I think my desk exploded!!!

I have so many projects that I am working on right now....I can't find anything on my desk! Ya know....when your work desk gets overloaded...and looks like a bomb went off! Welcome to my world!

I am getting ready to go to "The Paper Cowgirl" retreat (only a few weeks from now) and I wanted to make a few gifts to take with me, plus I signed up for 1 swap (altered cigar box)

I am also in the San Antonio Calligraphy Guild....and I signed up for the secret pal program for the summer...so I am making things for my secret pal in hopes she will like them...secretly I am feeling intimidated!!!! And I can't show pictures of what I am making for her...because if she looks at my blog...it won't be a secret anymore!

I have also been working with Susan at "Scrapbooks & More" and have put a few items for sale in her store-Vintage sheet music, handmade flowers, vintage lace, hand dyed ribbon....etc.

And I am working on ideas for up-coming classes....so please understand that is why I haven't posted in a while... Life gets busy...and time flys by!

Thanks for stopping by...I know all of yall are busy too...so I appreciate the time you take to stop by my little blog!

A weekend of fabulous friends, family and finds!

I had a Fabulous weekend filled with friends, family and finds! First I went to my mama's where we hit some garage sales, and visited my Grandmother. Then I headed to Winnie & Tulula's for Ki Nassaur's visit. How sweet Ki is! It was great to meet her! Here I am with my friend Lezlee and Ki! I got to spend some time with some of the nicest people in Texas like Debbie and Danny of Talking Trash and Jodi of Gresham Barn Sale

Margo was there snapping pictures....I snapped one of one of her necklaces!

And a few random shots from around the store....sooo much cool stuff! Then the "Girls gone Junkin" arrived! Everyone was so sweet to give me great advice for my first trip to Canton...which was bright and early the next morning.

And as overwhelming as Canton is...I did manage to find the "Girls gone Junkin" booth which was Divine!

I came back loaded with finds! I really did get some great bargains! I just wish it wasn't so far away...so I could do it more often!

I hope you enjoyed your weekend as much as I did mine!

I should be packing right now....since I am driving to Dallas tomorrow morning and have done nothing to get ready to leave town for a few days! Sometimes it's nice to just take a road trip! My Grandmother has been in the hospital and I am bringing her this card. While I am in the area... I am planning to go to Canton (flea market) at least one day and I am hoping to go to Athens for the event they are having at Winnie & Talula's. I hope you all have a great weekend!

I will also demonstrate how to hand dye ribbon to match perfectly.

I want to take a minute to thank everyone for stopping by and leaving me comments! I really appreciate every one of you! Your comments make my day!

Warrenton day trip #1

So yesterday I made a day trip to Warrenton all by myself....I had the day off and couldn't stand to wait one minute longer! There's just so much to see...so I plan to go again 2 more times before it's over
I found my favorite lace vendor...and the selection was amazing!

I saw so many pretty things...and was so inspired!
Not all the booths were completely set up yet...but it was still totally worth going...before the crowds hit! I am counting the seconds until Sunday when I am headed back there with my friend Rhodeen ....who has never been before! I wonder if she will love it as much as I do? We will be attending Theresa's bloggers party....read more about it here!
Anyways...I will report back and have more pictures next week!

C is for Collector

I so relate to this....I am a collector!!
So here is yet another mini book I recently made. I Love the sticker sheet {see it here} and papers by 7 Gypsies. I used sheets of cardboard that I get from our office (that would have been thrown away) to make this book-YEP recylcled cardboard! For 2 of the pages I used Tim Holtz on the edge dies for the decorative edges of the cardboard...the rest I just hand cut with an exact-o knife. I haven't decided if I will add a little more to the pages...or leave them like they are until I'm ready to add pictures. But I really like the look of it so far! I bought 2 sticker sheets...so I plan to make another one to sell....but this one I am gonna keep!

You can see that I used all the stickers sporadically throughout the pages I hope you like it! I would love to hear what you think of it!

Mini Books

I have so many projects going all at the same time...so it's feels great when I have a few that are finished! I have been making mini albums or books. My goal is to have enough things to fill up a booth at a craft show by November...so I started in January. It is sort of my New Years Resolution to "use" some of the "stuff" that I have bought and seems to be crowding up my space!

These 2 books were fun to make...and I really like how they turned out. The Designer paper "Life Stories" by My Minds Eye was my inspiration...but I also used papers by K&Co and others... some of my rubber stamps...and vintage lace..and charms....and etc.
Now I am working on class kits for March....I will be teaching a class for the San Antonio Calligraphy Guild on making paper flowers ....that's in addition to my regular classes at Stamp Antonio....so I gotta go and get busy!

Small Altered Journal

I buy things on impulse with the intention of altering them...or making something with them...I get all these ideas....but most of the time, these items I buy just sit in a box or a bin...and sadly...they never get made! Well ....Ta-Da! One of my impulse buys actually got made!
This is a small journal book that I purchased for $1.00 and simply covered and decorated the cover. What a nice gift this will make! So, 1 down....about 50 other impulse buys to go! I am trying to not buy anything else till I get these things I already have finished.....hmm how long do ya think that will last???
So many new things being released at CHA.... I saw this video on "Smash Journals" click HERE to see...very cool!
Thanks So much for stopping by.....I love hearing from Ya!
